After a sluggish first half in the New York Jetsโ Week 7 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Aaron Glenn has made a quarterback change, benching Justin Fields in favor of veteran Tyrod Taylor to start the second half.
Fields completed six of 12 passes for 46 yards and added 22 rushing yards on four carries, averaging 5.5 yards per attempt during the first half.
The move comes just one week after Glenn dismissed questions about potentially benching Fields following an embarrassing loss to the Denver Broncos, a game in which Fields struggled mightily.
Trailing 13-3 in the third quarter, Taylor looks to ignite the Jets to their first victory of the season in front of a home crowd at MetLife Stadium.
