Sabo Radio 41 hits on Joe Flacco‘s starting wishes and digs into the impossible chore: selecting the New York Jets Mount Rushmore.
What do you know, Joe? The latest edition of Sabo Radio hits on not one but two Joes.
First, New York Jets backup quarterback Joe Flacco spoke to the media for the first time on Thursday. Though it was just a Zoom call (of course it was), Flacco’s confidence hasn’t wavered.
The man who was once perfect over the course of a single tournament made it clear that he still feels like a starting NFL quarterback.
“Oh, for sure…. I obviously still believe that I’m a starting quarterback,” Flacco said with authority. “And, you never know what three years down the line is going to look like. I still have that confidence & have the want-to to do that.
“My goal is to help the team out, but I still believe I’m a starting quarterback.”
More significant is the level of acceptance associated with his brand-new role. While he still wants to play, the former Baltimore Ravens champion has accepted the role that shines a spotlight on young Sam Darnold.
Plus, Sabo Radio takes a dive into the organization’s all-time Mount Rushmore. The impossible chore is never a fun exercise for this franchise due to the dropoff after the fifth or sixth all-time player.
Joe Namath is obviously there, but which three players join him as the four who represent New York Jets Mount Rushmore? A couple of legends will come away disappointed, no matter the end result.
