Al Toon arrived on the NFL scene with a bang. The uber-talented New York Jets wide receiver entered the league in 1985, and it only took a couple of seasons for No. 88 to send a clear message to the entire sport.
Teaming up with Ken O’Brien and Wesley Walker, Toon led the late 1980s Jets offenses that could set the pace in every game. Arguably the most talented weapon in franchise history, only Don Maynard and perhaps Walker can compete with his record-breaking numbers.
Had Toon not been forced into an early retirement via injury concerns, he could have easily broken every Jets receiving record.
