The Jets announced the initial makeup of their practice squad. As of right now, the group includes only 15 players, one below the limit of 16, so one spot remains open. All 15 players spent time with the Jets in training camp and were released or waived prior to the cutdown deadline on Saturday.

WR Jehu Chesson, WR George Campbell, OL Jared Hilbers, LB James Burgess, DB Shyheim Carter, and DB Matthias Farley are among the notable candidates who did not make the squad.

In addition, the Jets have reportedly agreed to sign OL Josh Andrews, TE Daniel Brown, and CB Nate Hairston to their active 53-man roster (all three players were released or waived by the Jets on Saturday). Space needs to be created to correspond with these pickups, so expect the Jets to move at least three players to injured reserve in the near future.
