Ben Blessington and Michael Nania discuss the New York Jets’ latest loss, Sam Darnold, Trevor Lawrence, and Adam Gase.
After yet another embarrassing loss, this one to the winless Broncos and their third-string quarterback (Brett Rypien) on national television, the Jets are 0-4 and starting a disastrous season in the face as it appears that Adam Gase will keep his job for the remainder of the season.
Sam Darnold made his share of highlight-reel plays against Denver, but he continued to struggle with basic aspects of quarterbacking and looks like a shell of his former self, a quarterback struggling mightily and lacking any sort of poise or confidence.
With Gase sticking around and Darnold struggling, eyes are beginning to be pointed toward next April’s draft. If the Jets remain on their current path and earn the top selection, should they take Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence? If they do not land at #1, should they stick with Darnold or start over with someone like Ohio State’s Justin Fields or North Dakota State’s Trey Lance?
Ben and Michael break down the future of the Jets – Gase, Darnold, Lawrence – on the latest episode of Cool Your Jets.
