The Miami Dolphins, who the Jets were scheduled to face two-straight games (Week 9 and 10), have been moved to Week 6. (The Week 10 game has been moved to Week 6.)
In turn, the Los Angeles Chargers game has been moved from Week 6 to Week 11, while the bye week is now Week 10 instead of Week 11.
In the end, the Dolphins and Chargers don’t really flip, exactly. The bye week is crucial in getting this done.
Why the schedule needed to be altered in the first place deals with the current COVID-19 situation happening around the league. The New England Patriots-Denver Broncos game was postponed this week, as was the Tennesee Titans-Pittsburgh Steelers game last week.
The Jets, as well as the entire NFL, has no choice but to be flexible the rest of the way.
