New York Jets rookie running back La’Mical Perine hits pay dirt early against the Los Angeles Chargers after Frank Gore exited the game.
The New York Jets struck first in Los Angeles.
After a defensive stop, Brant Boyer‘s special teams unit came up huge. Henry Anderson blocked a punt and Quinnen Williams recovered it to set the Jets offense up at the Chargers’ 29-yard line.
After a few nice Frank Gore runs, La’Mical Perine tallied his second touchdown of the season, a 5-yard variety with jet-motion in the background.

Sam Ficken missed the extra point which means the Jets’ led just 6-0.
In the early going, Los Angeles has controlled time of possession. Rookie Bryce Hall has seen a ton of work on the first two Chargers’ drives. He made a nice tackle against a wide receiver screen and has been challenged by rookie Justin Herbert.
One play featured a Hall defensive pass interference and another saw Hall stick with Mike Williams on a go-route to help the play to an incompletion.
The Bolts took the ball down to the Jets’ 1-yard line on their second drive, but Keenan Allen fumbled. Marcus Maye dislodged the ball as Allen dove for the end zone.
However, Joe Flacco gave it right back. A lazy toss to the flat was picked and returned to the house by Tevaughn Campbell, a former Jet.
thank youuuu 😁
