Zach Wilson makes a young New York Jets fan’s day
He’s not even two preseason games into his professional career, but Zach Wilson already has his New York Jets “signature” moment.
Video captured by SNY depicts Wilson, prepping for the Jets’ exhibition against the Green Bay Packers (4:25 p.m. ET, WLNY/NFL Network), finding a young fan of Gang Green in the Lambeau Stadium stands and signing his jersey. The child is also wearing a headband reminiscent of Wilson’s game day style under his helmet.

As Wilson signs the youngster’s jersey, the child’s guardian, clad in a modern No. 12 Jets jersey likely depicting Joe Namath’s surname, is likewise in awe.
“We thought we would be the only two Jets fans here!” the elder fan says with a laugh. “I’m glad you guys came, man,” Wilson replies as he finishes off the signature before returning to pregame activities.
Chosen as the latest passing savior in the Jets’ star-crossed history, Wilson is looking to build on a solid debut from last weekend at MetLife Stadium. He completed 6-of-9 passes for 63 yards over two possessions in Saturday’s 12-7 win over the New York Giants. Each of his drives ended in opposing territory.
The lucky duo and other Jets fans who ventured out to Wisconsin will probably find the trip worth the wait if head coach Robert Saleh‘s plans come to fruition. According to Dennis Waszak of the Associated Press, New York starters are expected to play “one or two” more series than they did against the Giants last weekend.
