C.J. Mosley blasted Melvin Gordon on the goalline

C.J. Mosley reintroduced himself to the NFL this season with solid play. Now, the veteran linebacker made a statement in an electrifying fashion.

With the New York Jets defense in a goal-line situation, Mosley absolutely crushed Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon.

Mosley, playing in his fifth game as a Jet, has been one of the team’s top defenders and had five tackles over the first two defensive drives. His last was a takedown of Gordon that channeled the days of the hit stick of Madden NFL franchise.

Alas for the Jets, Mosley’s punishment only delayed the inevitable.

Javonte Williams helped the Broncos take revenge on the very next play, scoring from one yard to give Denver the early lead. It completed an 11-play, 75-yard drive after the team exchanged punts on their respective first possessions.

The Broncos now lead the Jets 10-0 in the second quarter. Brandon McManus’s 45-yard field goal extended the lead to two possessions.
