New York Jets quarterback Zach Wilson named Week 4 NFL Rookie of the Week
Anyone who watched Zach Wilson play on Sunday against the Tennessee Titans more than likely saw their jaw hit the floor at one point or another over the course of the game.
Why? Well … that’s an easy one.
The rookie enjoyed his best professional performance.
Don’t trust the word of Jets X-Factor, alone? Well, look no further than the NFL’s own rookie of the week award, given out to the top-performing rookie each week of the NFL season.
Week 4’s award has gone to none other than Wilson.
Wilson earned the NFL’s Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week Award after throwing for 297 yards two touchdown passes to one interception on 21 of 34 passing.
Interestingly, anyone who saw the game knows it wasn’t the stats that earned Wilson this honor, but rather the throws he made and how effortless he made them look.
“I felt like there was a lot more confidence in the huddle,” Wilson said after the Jets’ first victory of the season. “You know, I was a lot more confident in myself … The big word of the week was trusting each other.”
If Gang Green can continue to build on this trust in one another, it could be a good idea for Wilson to start clearing space on his mantle. There will be a lot more where this came from and the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year race is still wide open.
