Rex Ryan rants about Robert Saleh and the New York Jets

Is it even accurate to call it rock bottom anymore? The New York Jets just canโ€™t stop finding ways to hit new low points.

Following the Jetsโ€™ 12th straight loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday – a one-sided affair that saw the Patriots come out on top by 41 points – former Jets head coach Rex Ryan had some choice words for his former team.

On ESPNโ€™s Get Up, Ryan called the loss against the Patriots โ€œa complete embarrassment for Robert Saleh and his coaching staff.โ€

Ryan pointed out that Gang Green’s minus-41 scoring margin is tied for the largest negative point differential in the Super Bowl era for a team coming off a bye week. In other words, there has never been a worse performance from a team with an extra week to prepare in the modern history of the NFL.

โ€œSo congratulations,โ€ Ryan continued angrily. โ€œThereโ€™s no passion, thereโ€™s no nothing โ€ฆ Youโ€™ve got a horrendous coaching staff with a quarterback that looks 100 percent lost.โ€

Ryan praised Bill Belichick and the Patriots, stating, “You saw a team that knows what the hell they’re doing – the coaching staff – with a rookie quarterback … That kid (Mac Jones) looks like a seasoned pro.”

Ryanโ€™s anger pales in comparison, however, to the anger that fans of the Jets are feeling. This season was billed as new, exciting, and hopeful. Through the first seven weeks of the season, none of that has been anywhere near the reality.

If the Jetsโ€™ season continues down the path it is on, there will be plenty more televised rants where this came from.
