EA Sports, Madden NFL respond to John Franklin-Myers’ request
After recording his first career interception in the New York Jets’ 21-14 win over the Houston Texans, defensive end John Franklin-Myers called for a boost to his catch rating in the “Madden NFL” video game.
Can I get my catch rating up on madden?😂 @EAMaddenNFL https://t.co/3JdBA4gYgC

Jets X-Factor’s own Nick Heilman responded accordingly.
We took care of it, JFM.

After a few days, Franklin-Myers’ request finally got the attention of the team at EA Sports.
The New York Jets’ Twitter account shared a video on Friday that spread the good news: Franklin-Myers’ Madden ratings had been boosted.
In the video shared by the Jets, former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson (who is the assistant to the head of research & analytics at Madden, according to his Twitter bio) broke down the three boosts that were made to Franklin-Myers’ ratings.

Franklin-Myers’ catch rating saw a 10-point boost, rising from 26 to 36. His tackle rating jumped three points from 83 to 86, while his overall rating climbed one point from 80 to 81.
“John Franklin-Myers!,” Johnson exclaims as Franklin-Myers’ highlights play in the background.
“I saw your tweet, the world saw your tweet, you wanted your catching rating adjusted, but we’ll get to that in just a minute. Because I want to talk about the game Sunday. Because you was balling, with two sacks and an interception in the same game, the first Jets defensive linemen to do so.”
Getting to Franklin-Myers’ request, Johnson continued, “But what you did ask is that we change your catching rating, so your catch rating is going up, plus ten, from a 28 to a 38.”
Finally, Johnson jokingly added to the jeers that Franklin-Myers received from his teammates regarding his return following the interception.
“But we got to work on your running ability. You got to use that stiff arm next time to get that guy off you, that should’ve been a touchdown.”
Franklin-Myers will look for an encore on Sunday against star right tackle Lane Johnson when the Philadelphia Eagles fly into the MetLife Stadium.
