Rex Ryan calls back to infamous Jets drama when discussing Aaron Rodgers
You can always count on Rex Ryan to reminisce upon his bombastic history with the New York Jets to produce a memorable soundbite.
Appearing on ESPN’s “Get Up” the Monday following Week 14’s NFL action, Ryan and his fellow crew members were discussing the health of Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who revealed that he suffered a setback to his fractured toe during his team’s Sunday night victory over the Chicago Bears.
During his post-game peas conference, Aaron Rodgers said he suffered a setback Sunday night to his fractured toe and it “feels worse”. Surgery is, in his words, “a last resort, for sure.” But the toe is expected to be re-examined.

Let’s just say that feet have been known to be one of Ryan’s areas of expertise. We won’t go into details on it here, but Jets fans from the Ryan days know what we’re talking about, and if you want to find out more, Google is your friend.
Early in his tenure as the Jets’ head coach, it would be hard to discuss Ryan with one of your co-workers without a feet joke being cracked.
Over a decade later, Ryan called back to his infamous Jets past with a joke of his own while discussing Rodgers’ injury.
“Listen, I’m a toe expert,” Ryan says, drawing laughs from the crew and prompting Ryan Clark to walk off the set.

“There’s nothing wrong with Aaron Rodgers! He threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns! Come on, stop! Stop it already!”, Ryan exclaimed.
Rodgers completed 29 of 37 passes for 341 yards and four touchdowns in Green Bay’s 45-30 win over Chicago under the national spotlight. Green Bay owns a 10-3 record that has them situated at first place in the NFC North and second place in the NFC standings. The Packers can clinch the division with a win or a Vikings loss next week.
