George Fant’s foundation will host an auction for charity

On the field, New York Jets offensive tackle George Fant has proven to be one of the Jets’ biggest difference makers, in part, due to his elite pass protection. But off the field, Fant is making an even bigger difference.

On March 19, Fant and the “Fant Foundation” will be hosting the Kentucky Legends Auction. All proceeds from the event “will go back into the foundation provide funding to enrich + support youth in the community.”

According to the Twitter post, Fant’s auction will include two 2023 Super Bowl tickets, two 2022 Jets home game tickets (airfare included), a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle bourbon, and much more. There will also be a few “guests of honor” from Kentucky.

For Fant, this is what we’ve come to expect. After creating the “Fant Foundation” in 2021, the Jets’ standout tackle has made a name for himself in his hometown community of Bowling Green, Kentucky.

And “hometown” might be an understatement. Before being signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Seahawks in 2016, the state of Kentucky was all that Fant ever knew. Born in Bowling Green, Fant attended Warren Central High School in Bowling Green and then spent five more years in the city at Western Kentucky University, where he played basketball for four years and football for one.

It’s safe to say that Fant and Kentucky go hand-in-hand. Despite spending the majority of the NFL season in New Jersey, Fant has never forgotten where he came from.

In just over one year of existence, Fant and his foundation have done a whole lot for Bowling Green. Last year, they introduced the “Dream Big Camp” for school-aged children, a celebrity softball game, a turkey drive, financial wellness seminars, and much more. Most importantly, after Bowling Green was devastated by tornadoes last December, Fant raised over $30,000 to assist the victims and city in its initial recovery.

If you live in Kentucky (or would like to make the trip), you can learn more about the auction at FantFoundation.org, Fant Foundation on Facebook, or @Fant_Foundation on Twitter and Instagram.
