New York Jets going with a frosty look for their first game of the 2022 season
Forget Zach Wilson‘s status or the dire offensive tackle situation – the biggest New York Jets news of the week is finally here.
That’s right: the announcement of what uniform the team will be wearing on Sunday.
Team owner Woody Johnson took to Twitter with news of the team’s uniform decision for the upcoming game. “White on white for Game 1”, Johnson tweeted, alongside a picture of C.J. Mosley donning the combination.

The Jets played somewhat respectably in their white-on-white set last season. They wore it five times, posting a 2-3 record. This includes wins over the Tennessee Titans and Houston Texans along with a loss to the Buffalo Bills and two losses to the New England Patriots.
New York’s 2-3 record (.400) with the white-on-white set was a massive improvement over their 2-10 record (.167) when not wearing white-on-white.
This marks the second consecutive season in which the Jets elected to go all-white for their home opener. The Jets also chose the icy look for their MetLife Stadium debut against the Patriots last season. That game did not go too well (to say the very least) as Zach Wilson threw four interceptions in a 25-6 loss.
The Jets followed up the Patriots game with another all-white appearance in their second home game. This one turned out to be one of their most memorable games of the year: a 27-24 overtime triumph over the Titans.
Baltimore will be donning purple jerseys and white pants on Sunday, per the team’s official Twitter account.

The Ravens went 2-1 in purple-on-white last season and own an all-time record of 108-58-1 (.654) when rocking the combination.
