New York Jets quarterback news: Mike White limited in practice with rib injury, Zach Wilson elevated to QB2
Zach Wilson is back in the house.
After being inactive the last two games due to his demotion to QB3, Wilson will be the backup to Mike White in the Jets’ Week 15 tilt against the Lions, as Robert Saleh confirmed in his Wednesday press conference.
Saleh, of course, tried to say that this is a promotion of Wilson due to improvement rather than a demotion of Joe Flacco.
Saleh says it's just a "coincidence" that Wilson is being elevated the week after Flacco has a bad game, noting that Wilson has shown signs of improvement in practice. #Jets

However, if anyone believes that, I have a bridge to sell them. Saleh simply cannot admit that this is an addition by subtraction.
Wilson discussed what he’s learned from his time off.
Wilson on how he benefitted from the break: "The biggest thing for me mentally was finding the fun in football. I love this game. It definitely wasn't lost, but I think you guys felt the frustration over some of those rough games." #Jets

Meanwhile, White was limited in practice with the rib injury he sustained on Matt Milano’s bruising hit. Saleh said that the Jets are operating under the assumption that White will start on Sunday. If not, though, Wilson is the next man up.
The Jets will need pinpoint play from whoever mans the helm down the stretch.
