This means the Jets will play four preseason games this season, rather than the customary total of three that was enacted in 2021. They will also likely begin their training camp one week earlier than usual.
The game will be played at 8 p.m. ET, per the Jets’ official website.

The Jets and Browns will be well represented in Canton this year, hence their selections for the game. New York will see franchise greats Darrelle Revis and Joe Klecko put on their gold jackets. Cleveland’s Joe Thomas is also headed to the Hall.
It will be the Jets’ third-ever trip to the Hall of Fame Game, and their first since 1992 when they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 41-14. Their other appearance came in 1977 when they lost 20-6 to the Chicago Bears.
It is interesting to think about who might start under center for the Jets in that game. Surely, whoever their projected starting quarterback is – whether it’s Derek Carr, Aaron Rodgers, or someone else – will not be suiting up in Canton. Either the backup or the third-stringer will likely take the reigns. Could it be Zach Wilson? Mike White? Chris Streveler?
Regardless, that’s a discussion for another day. For now, we have our first official scheduling news of the Jets’ 2023 season. We know they will be one of the first two teams to take the field for a live football game this year.
Just 158 days remain until the Jets kick off their 2023 season in Canton. The time will fly by faster than you think – it always does. Start your countdowns, folks.
