Will Parks takes a shot at Derek Carr after he spurns New York Jets
Derek Carr has chosen to sign with the New Orleans Saints over the New York Jets, and it appears that New York’s players are taking notice.
Jets safety and special teams ace Will Parks took to Twitter with a fiery post shortly after the news was announced. While Parks did not address Carr by name, it’s clear that his post is directed at the now-Saints quarterback.
“So he don’t wanna play in the cold with the #1 defense in America?”, Parks tweeted.

Fellow special teams ace Justin Hardee replied to Parks’ tweet by simply scratching his head.

Carr’s cold-weather struggles were one of the most commonly discussed concerns about Carr potentially coming to New York after a nine-year career that was entirely spent in California and Nevada. In New Orleans, Carr will get to avoid the northeastern elements as he plays in a dome and lives in another warm climate.
Parks calls the Jets’ defense “the #1 defense in America”. While the Jets weren’t actually the league’s top-ranked defense in any major categories, they were very close to it in just about every statistic, including a No. 4 ranking in points allowed per game and a No. 5 ranking in defensive DVOA. Carr was forced to work around a poor defense throughout his entire career with the Raiders, which is a major reason why the Jets, with their top defense, were seen as a potentially appealing destination for him.
But what’s done is done. Carr is a Saint and the Jets remain on the prowl for a quarterback.
