Aaron Rodgers’ comments and mannerisms on Saturday could be telling if you’re a clue-hungry New York Jets fan

With the Aaron Rodgers saga dragging out to lengths few could have anticipated, New York Jets fans are beginning to sleuth for any and every clue they can find regarding the future of the four-time MVP quarterback.

A very telling clue may have emerged on Saturday.

Rodgers hosted a celebrity flag football game in California. Former Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall was in attendance. In a video clip, Marshall can be seen pressing Rodgers about his future. While Rodgers keeps an impressive poker face, it will be hard for Jets fans to watch this clip and not come away feeling like Rodgers is coming to New York.

“Where we going, A-Rod?”, Marshall asked. To that, Rodgers replied, “Stay tuned.”

Marshall, like many Jets fans, seems to be getting impatient with the process. He asked Rodgers, “How long we gotta wait?”. In response, Rodgers said, “Well, I think it won’t be long. There’s a time limit for all this.”

Marshall asks if he can break the news, especially since he is, in his own words, “an all-time Jet.” Rodgers disagrees with Marshall’s assessment, pointing out that Marshall only had one great season with the team.

Today marks an important juncture in the Rodgers saga. Free agency essentially begins tomorrow (Monday, March 13) at 12 p.m. ET, as that is when the NFL’s legal tampering window opens. Both teams need to know where they stand from a cap perspective prior to the beginning of free agency.

With that in mind, it feels likely that a conclusion will be reached today – if not, then it would have to be early Monday morning at the latest. It’s difficult to imagine a scenario where a resolution is not reached prior to 12 p.m. ET on Monday.

It’s been a long, excruciating ride, but at last, the finish line is near.

I hope that everyone takes the time to actually listen to the full 4+ minute interview.
I realize that enlightenment and the ego aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if you listen to Rodgers you will see that calling him an egomaniac and arguing that he’s dragging this out b/c he loves the attention are the furthest thing from the truth. It’s life, it’s huge decisions.
Namaste and Go Jets
