Despite the New York Jets’ pressing need at quarterback, Matt Ryan is happy with his current situation
One potential veteran quarterback option seems to be off the board for the New York Jets.
After a report from Jay Glazer that said Matt Ryan and Carson Wentz had reached out to the Jets, Ryan said he is content with his current situation.
"I got no interest in doing that right now."

“I’m really enjoying what I’m doing on my end working with Andrew, Tiki, and AJ. They’ve been fun to work with,” said Ryan.
Ryan then praised his agent, Todd Francis, for being “incredible” before saying, “I got no interest in doing that right now” when referring to the Jets’ situation.
Ryan last played for the Colts in 2022, passing for 3,057 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions. He averaged 6.6 yards per attempt and had a completion percentage of 67.0.
While 2022 was one of Ryan’s worst seasons, if not his worst, he would still be an upgrade over Zach Wilson. The likes of Carson Wentz and Colt McCoy, who are not exactly the epitome of quarterback play in the NFL, would also be upgrades.
The harsh reality of the situation is that the Jets need to add someone at the quarterback position. Not only is an addition necessary to improve the offense, but also to save the season and locker room from imploding. The Jets have too talented of a roster for the quarterback play to continue to hold them back.
Matt Ryan does not seem interested in currently suiting up for the Jets. Regardless, the Jets must continue exploring every avenue for a quarterback addition. Otherwise, their 2023 season will likely continue to spiral.
