New York Jets running back Breece Hall, called “deceptively fast” by announcer Tiki Barber, responded with a social media post

Breece Hall is coming with the facts after the New York Jets’ win over the Denver Broncos.

During the broadcast of the game on CBS, announcer Tiki Barber said that the Jets’ running back was not a 4.4 runner and is “deceptively fast.” He also was getting mixed up with the other “Hall” on the team, referring to the running back as “Bryce” instead of “Breece.”

On Tuesday morning, Hall responded to Barber’s comments.

Multiple Jets fans quickly pointed out that Hall, who was selected in the 2022 NFL Draft, has always been a fast running back. The former Iowa State running back’s testing numbers are public on NFL.com, as Connie Carberg pointed out in a post on X.

In response to the post from the star Jets’ running back, Barber said he ran a 4.56 and that “All that matters is that you ball.”

Even before Barber’s apology, his comments caught ire due to their incorrect nature. On Hall’s long touchdown run, he hit 21.50 miles per hour, according to Next Gen Stats. It was the second-fastest run of his career and stands as the eighth-fastest speed reached in the NFL this season, including the fourth-fastest by a running back.

Despite Barber saying otherwise, Hall is one of the NFL’s most athletic and explosive running backs. As he gets healthier, Hall will continue to showcase the speed that Barber seemingly thought he lacked.
