Sunday’s Jets-Falcons score resembles one posted by the Mets and Braves
No rain delay is in store for this 10-5 game between New York and Atlanta.
The Atlanta Falcons have posted a Braves-esque score at MetLife Stadium thanks in part to being victimized by a safety and a touchdown grab for MyCole Pruitt against the New York Jets. Sunday’s game has been an uncomfortably familiar affair for the Jets, as a strong defensive effort has not been backed up by the offense, which has only been able to respond with a Greg Zuerlein field goal.
Penalties of both the questionable and legitimate variety marred New York’s first half as the Jets racked up 52 yards on seven yellow charges.

Before some old-fashioned flea flicker trickery, Morstead was the Jets’ primary offensive catalyst, downing Atlanta at its own one that led to the safety. Morstead, a former Atlanta adversary during his New Orleans heyday, has averaged over 50 yards on three attempts. At the rate of the weather and the stagnant nature of the Jets’ offense, they won’t be his last.
Better Than Nothing
Patrick Mahomes, Tom Brady, and even Aaron Rodgers himself would have trouble behind this New York offensive line, but Boyle appears to at least be gaining some form of confidence, taking more chances downfield, finding better ball placement. It’s certainly not ideal but Boyle is at least revealing himself as a capable backup against mediocre competition.
X Marks the Spot
These final hours are mostly meaningless, but the Jets have several prospects who need to take these games seriously so as to make the case for their NFL futures in either East Rutherford or elsewhere. Gipson has taken advantage of the opportunities, being responsible for the Jets’ most prominent offensive chances to date.
