The New York Jets endured a wipeout in South Beach
As the New York Jets come home for Christmas, they won’t be bringing any gifts back from South Florida.
Gang Green failed to build on the momentum established in last week’s win over Houston, dropping a 30-0 decision to the Miami Dolphins at Hard Rock Stadium on Sunday afternoon at Hard Rock Stadium. The loss more or less ends the Jets’ already-slim playoff chances, and they’ve now dropped six of their past seven.
The Jets (5-9) forced a punt on Miami’s opening possession, but things nonetheless seemed doomed from the start. Zach Wilson lost a fumble on a combined sack from Bradley Chubb and Christian Wilkins, which was recovered at the cusp of the goal line. Miami capitalized in three plays, giving it to Raheem Mostert for his first score of the day.

New York tried to flip momentum with some fake punt magic that previously — if only briefly — stymied Miami in their last meeting on Black Friday. Alas, this edition was far from effective, as a direct snap to Ashtyn Davis was immediately eaten up by Miami’s special teams. At the time, the Jets were able to limit the damage to a field goal.

After three consecutive punts, Miami opened the lead up further, finding Jaylen Waddle for a 60-yard score. One more Mostert score proved well enough to create the final margin.
