Sauce The Recruiter is already hard at work for the New York Jets

There are still 48 days remaining until the opening of the NFL’s 2024 legal tampering window (i.e. the start of free agency). Heck, we haven’t even reached championship Sunday yet.

That’s not a problem for Sauce Gardner, who is wasting no time getting a head start on his recruiting efforts for the New York Jets.

Taking to Twitter, Gardner skipped the cryptic messaging that is typically used by NFL players and gave a very direct answer in response to a post that asked Jets fans which free agent wide receivers they’d like to see the team sign (specifically, a free agent that “no one is talking about”). Gardner simply wrote, “Calvin Ridley & Tee [Higgins]”.

Here’s the screenshot in case it gets deleted:

Ah yes, Calvin Ridley and Tee Higgins, my favorite scrappy underdogs that nobody ever talks about.

It seems like Gardner missed the “no one is talking about” part of the initial post; nonetheless, it’s fascinating to see Gardner make such a blunt proclamation about which players he’d like to see the team sign. The two-time first-team All-Pro seems to be just as hungry for the Jets to add offensive firepower as the fans are.

Gardner chiming in on the Jets’ offseason pursuits is nothing new. Last year, he famously filmed himself performing a ritual sacrifice of a Packers cheesehead in hopes of luring Aaron Rodgers to the team. Obviously, Gardner’s effort was successful, so we can all rest easy knowing that Sauce’s cheesehead did not die in vain.

We shall see if Recruiter Sauce can speak his offseason wishes into existence yet again.
