“LeSauce” has arrived for the New York Jets
Sauce Gardner is ready to start his recruiting work this offseason.
In a string of posts on Twitter, the New York Jets’ two-time All-Pro cornerback unveiled his recruiting persona, which he calls “LeSauce.”
LeSauce is finally back😎 For y'all that don't know, that's my recruiting name😉

The name is evidently inspired by Lebron James, who is not only known for his basketball prowess but also for his tenacity and skill in influencing moves for the teams he plays for.
Gardner, or LeSauce as he is currently going by, asked fans in a tweet who they want as a wide receiver addition this offseason. In addition to listing popular names like Tee Higgins and Mike Evans, the star cornerback jokingly suggested he could also move to wide receiver.

The player/recruiter then gave his thoughts on current 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. Gardner called Aiyuk “one WR I see who gets open the majority of the game but [doesn’t] get thrown the ball,” and suggested that the wideout should get more opportunities in contested catch situations.
Aiyuk is one WR I see who gets open the majority of the game but don't get thrown the ball. And he can win in contested situations so even if he's not wide open, he should get the opportunity to make a play on the ball instead of throwing it away -LeSauce(GM) https://t.co/pKKVQYcuwX

Additionally, Gardner revealed his team-building philosophy, saying that he starts with an elite quarterback, gets talented receivers, and then an offensive line to protect his quarterback.

The two-time All-Pro took a question about current Commanders quarterback Sam Howell potentially serving as the Jets’ backup in 2024. In response, the cornerback said, “Honestly, it doesn’t matter because Aaron is about to do something this year that shocks the world in a great way. Ohh, and CPOY.”

Gardner finished with an important announcement: He’s only a freelance general manager working from home. He’s not an official general manager for the Jets (yet).

While LeSauce is not an official general manager yet, it is encouraging to see one of the Jets’ best players actively trying to recruit players to their team. Along with Breece Hall, the team’s young stars are playing a significant role on and off the field in changing the narrative surrounding the Jets.
It remains to be seen if Gardner can reach the heights of the actual “LeGM” as LeSauce. If he can help bring talented players to the Jets, though, the newest player/general manager will have a great start to his dual career.
