1,000-yard New York Jets receivers of past and present met at practice
A former New York Jets fan favorite met with one of the team’s current stars.
In a post on Instagram, former Jets wide receiver Wayne Chrebet shared a series of pictures with current wide receiver Garrett Wilson. He also had a lengthy caption thanking Wilson for his time.
“Great having a chance to chat with @garrettwilson at Jets Camp. Thanks for your time man. I always knew what a talented player you are. But I was blown away by how humble and how cool he was with my son Cade. It meant a lot. He’s a rock star. Sky’s the limit for him in his career and the success of this 2024 season. And hopefully many more after that.”
Wilson also commented on the post that he “Loved getting to chop it up, big dawg.”
It is cool to see Wilson and Chrebet meet up at practice. Both have had a massive impact on the Jets’ passing game at different points. Chrebet, who currently hosts Jet X’s Underdog Jets podcast with Robby Sabo, was a crucial part of the late 1990s and early 2000s. Wilson projects to lead the Jets’ offense throughout the 2020s.
Additionally, Wilson continues to show the type of character that is important to the culture the Jets want to build. Like Sauce Gardner, Wilson makes time for everyone, whether it is fans or the family of former players.
The star wideout has solidified his standing with fans and former players off the field. With another great season in 2024, Wilson should leave no doubt that he will be one of the most essential Jets players for the foreseeable future.
