One of the New York Jets’ most promising rookies had the ultimate praise for Garrett Wilson.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), running back Braelon Allen said Wilson is the best football player he has ever seen (outside of Aaron Rodgers).
“I ain’t gon lie… Garrett is the best football player I’ve ever seen…Excluding A-Rod.”

Allen also responded to a post from fellow teammate Jermaine Johnson, saying that Wilson pulls out insane moves “literally every day.”

It is impressive to see Wilson making such a significant impact on his teammates, but it is not surprising in the slightest.
The Ohio State product has been a dominant force in practice all summer, beating up on the Jets’ defense and opposing teams at will. His route running is extremely crisp, and he consistently gets excellent releases off the line. He is cooking on double moves and creating immense separation while also displaying strong hands on contested catches.
These skills were always there for Wilson, but he now has the quarterback to put them on full display more frequently.
Wilson has demonstrated an elite rapport with quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The four-time MVP consistently looks for Wilson all over the field, and the third-year receiver makes plays whenever called upon.
With training camp in the books and New York set to rest its starters in the preseason finale, Wilson turns his attention to the regular season. He is primed to have a true breakout with Rodgers at quarterback.
Wilson’s performance this summer has made his teammates true believers. If he continues this level of play starting in Week 1, the wideout will likely turn many more people into believers as well, proving himself as a top-tier player at the position.
