The New York Jets’ standout rookie running back is looking to keep things rolling after his impressive Week 2 performance.

After Sunday’s victory against the Tennessee Titans, Braelon Allen spoke about how it felt to score two touchdowns and help the Jets get the win.

“It means a lot. It was a lot of fun. I can’t say it gets much easier than the two touchdowns that I had. It was perfect blocking, and being on the field with Breece (Hall) at the same time, he draws a ton of attention. So that kind of took eyes off me, and we had perfect blocking on the screen. So, it was really easy and kind of the same story on the touchdown run. So, I can’t thank those guys enough.”

Allen also spoke about his comfort with the playbook and his role on the team.

“I’m extremely comfortable. I feel like I was able to get a pretty good grasp on it fairly early. Learning the scheme is nothing that I’ve ever really struggled with. I played in three different offenses at Wisconsin. This is the fourth year in a row I’ve had to learn something new and haven’t really had any trouble with it, and Aaron’s (Rodgers), obviously, if I don’t know something, he knows it, and I’m right there with them. So just ask him a quick question. He’ll let me know.”

Additionally, Allen raved about the advantages of having Aaron Rodgers in the huddle, mentioning how Rodgers brings himself and the team “nothing but confidence.” Allen says that with Rodgers present, he knew the team would pull out the victory.

“You know you’re going to win the game. That’s what it comes down to. I haven’t been around him too long, but I’ve watched them for a really long time, and there’s nobody better in those situations over the past two decades. So, it’s nothing but confidence. You know you’re going to pull it out as long as everybody does their job.”

At Tuesday’s media availability, Allen expressed his excitement at playing at MetLife Stadium for the Jets’ home opener.

Yeah, I mean, I’m extremely excited. I know it’s going to be a great atmosphere, just based on what I’ve seen. For it to be a prime-time game on Thursday night,  I’m expecting it to be electric.”

Even at the young age of 20, Allen is one of the critical pieces of the Jets’ offense. His running ability is natural and powerful, bowling over defenders when he gets a full head of steam. Allen also possesses soft hands as a receiver, allowing him to use his frame to make plays all over the field.

Week 2 was only the start for Allen, as if the Jets want to keep winning games, the Wisconsin product must be involved heavily going forward.
