While appearing on the NFL Network show “The Insiders” with Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, New York Jets defensive tackle Solomon Thomas spoke highly about the organization’s environment following a 2-1 start to the season.
“The vibes are high right now,” Thomas said. “Guys are excited. Coming off two wins in a row and coming off the complete win last week against the Patriots is huge for us. But we’re just excited. We are not getting too far ahead; we are being in the present moment, and just trying to get better every week and be the best that we can be. I’m not trying to be perfect; we are trying to be the team we know we are. The goal is to get better every week, progress, improve, and if we do that we will be at the place we want to by the end of the season.”

Thomas was later asked how much of an impact Aaron Rodgers has on the team.
“It’s huge,” Thomas responded. “Aaron brings so much to this team. The player he is, the way he has played this season, is just Aaron Rodgers. It is who Aaron is; people are going to talk about his age, but it doesn’t matter because he prepares the same way he has always prepared; he is the best in the world for a reason, and it shows every day.
“But he brings so much more than the talent and the quarterback that he is. He is a leader in the locker room, a great friend, he’s a great teammate. Always giving guys knowledge on everything he can. He motivates guys; he brings confidence, and he just instills that in our team. And it is so cool playing with Aaron; it is so cool being on a team with him, but you know, he just brings and demands a different level of greatness from us, and we are very lucky to have Aaron Rodgers on our team.”
The Jets aim to sustain their momentum this Sunday as they host the Denver Broncos.
