The New York Jets lead at halftime again. They hope this one will lead to a better result than last week’s 37-15 debacle against Pittsburgh.

Xavier Gipson got the Jets’ offense off to a good start by posting a 52-yard punt return. However, the Jets failed to cash in, going three-and-out.

The Patriots started their second drive of the game at their own 23-yard line. They promptly drove 77 yards for a touchdown, cashing in on a 17-yard Drake Maye scramble.

On the ensuing drive, the Jets countered with a 70-yard drive of their own. Breece Hall had two carries for 25 yards, but the drive was aided by two pass interference penalties against the Patriots (one of which was dubious).

Aaron Rodgers finished the drive with a 2-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Conklin, who has now scored in back-to-back weeks. However, Greg Zuerlein’s missed extra point kept the game at 7-6.

On the Jets’ next possession, they marched 60 yards for another touchdown. A 27-yard pass from Rodgers to Garrett Wilson set them up at the Patriots’ one-yard line, and Xavier Gipson scored one play later on a terrific catch.

The Patriots’ offense suffered a blow when rookie quarterback Drake Maye left the game to be evaluated for a concussion. Although Maye was just 3-for-6 for 23 yards, his three scrambles for 46 yards had propelled the Patriots’ offense to respectability early on.

Jacoby Brissett entered and led the Patriots to two straight three-and-outs to end the half.

The Jets will receive the ball to begin the second half.
