Not only are New York Jets fans hyped about the new era, but former players are as well.
Jets alumni, some of which were former teammates of new head coach Aaron Glenn, were on hand to support their friend at his introductory press conference Monday afternoon.
The likes of Jet X’s very own, Wayne Chrebet (one-half of The Underdog Jets Podcast), Nick Mangold, Damien Woody, and many more were on-hand for the presser that introduced Glenn as the head coach and Darren Mougey as the general manager.
Glenn, 52, became the Jets’ newest head coach last week after he and the organization agreed to terms. Just a few days later, Mougey was chosen as the organization’s next general manager.
Both Glenn and Mougey were introduced to the Jets universe by Chairman Woody Johnson Monday afternoon—courtesy of an event that saw a diverse number of individuals on hand.
Naturally, the media was on hand to cover the event—which included Jets X-Factor—but select Jets staff members and alumni were also present to help celebrate Glenn’s hiring.
At one point, when talkina bout the Jets’ bitter defeat to the Denver Broncos in the 1998 AFC championship game, Glenn referenced former teammate Wayne Chrebet when he said, “Wayne, you’ll remember this.” Glenn vowed to get that defeat back for the Jets organization and fans now that he’s at the helm.
In addition to calling out the Jets organization, fans, and his own family members, Glenn was sure to cite the former Jets players on hand, especially his former teammates.
“My guys. I would not be here without you,” Glenn said.
