A new era of New York Jets football has officially begun in Florham Park.

The Jets are one of three teams who are beginning their offseason activities on Monday morning. This is just the first phase of the offseason, with strength and conditioning being the emphasis. While voluntary, it’s a great chance for many key faces of the team to meet their new coaching staff.

That means new head coach Aaron Glenn gets the chance to see some of New York’s biggest stars for the first time since being named for the top job in January.

Jets Offseason Workouts Begin

Glenn comes to New York after a four-year run as Detroit Lions defensive coordinator. There, he improved the unit every year he was calling plays, including fielding one of the more physical units in the league last season (Lions finished fifth against the run and seventh in points allowed).

The big reason why Glenn is here, though, is that he brings a winning mindset and culture the Jets have been searching for over the last couple of decades.

New York has the longest active playoff drought in North American sports at 14 years. They haven’t had a winning season in nine straight years along the way.

The Jets are not without talent. They return All-Pro defensive players like Sauce Gardner and the Williams brothers in Quincy and Quinnen. On offense, the offensive line has as much potential as any group in the past, Garrett Wilson is on a historic path as a receiver, and a new quarterback in Justin Fields is being asked to man the controls of the offense.

There is talent here for the Jets to surprise people. They just have to go out and do it.

And it all starts Monday with players reporting to the facility for the first time in 2025.
