A familiar face returns to the AFC East

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Buffalo Bills are signing former New York Jets second-round pick Elijah Moore to a one-year contract for $5 million.

The Jets selected Moore in the second round of the 2021 NFL draft, envisioning the Ole Miss standout as a dynamic playmaker and foundational piece of their offense.

That vision never came to fruition.

Moore spent his first two seasons with the Jets (2021–22), totaling 80 receptions for 984 yards and six touchdowns over 27 games.

He was traded to the Cleveland Browns ahead of the 2023 season, packaged with a second-round pick in exchange for a third-round selection.

In his first season with Cleveland, the receiver posted a career-best 640 receiving yards on 59 catches with two touchdowns.

He followed that up in 2024 with 61 receptions for 538 yards and one score, continuing to show his ability to contribute but not fully break out as many once expected.

Now, entering his fifth NFL season, Moore joins his third team after signing with the Buffalo Bills, which reached the AFC championship game last season and remains one of the AFC’s top contenders.

“Back in that red and blue,” Moore posted on X after signing with the Bills. “Time to go be GREAT. Grateful for the opportunity! Can’t wait to meet BILLS MAFIA.”

Moore has shown flashes of explosiveness and potential throughout his career, but to truly establish himself as a long-term weapon in a high-powered offense, he must prove he can deliver consistent production week after week.

With a strong supporting cast and quarterback Josh Allen at the helm, this may be Elijah Moore’s best opportunity yet.
