For New York Jets fans, whether theyโre rooting for wins or for draft position, Sundayโs blowout loss to the Miami Dolphins was rough to watch.
Despite the embarrassing loss at home, New York stayed put at No. 7 in the draft order.
With Week 14’s Sunday slate of games in the books, hereโs how the updated order stacks up.
- New York Giants ( 2-11, .534 SOS)
- Las Vegas Raiders (2-11, .548)
- Tennessee Titans (2-11, .573 SOS)
- Cleveland Browns (3-10, .486 SOS)
- New Orleans Saints (3-10, .498 SOS)
- Washington Commanders (3-10, .511 SOS)
- New York Jets (3-10, .541 SOS)
- Arizona Cardinals (3-10, .570 SOS)
- Los Angeles Rams, via the Atlanta Falcons (4-9, .502 SOS)
- Cincinnati Bengals (4-9, .523 SOS)
A win by Tennessee over Cleveland pushed the Titans down two spots in the draft order, while the Brownsโ loss moved them up one. The Saints also slid three spots after upsetting the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Browns, Commanders, and Jets now share the same record, but Cleveland and Washington hold the strength-of-schedule tiebreaker over New York.
The Indianapolis Colts, whose first-round pick the Jets own in April after the Sauce Gardner trade, climbed to No. 18 in the draft order after a loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars, falling to 8-5. The setback was even harsher for their quarterback room, as Daniel Jones suffered a season-ending torn Achilles tendon.
Their remaining schedule is also brutal, and theyโll now have to lean on sixth-round rookie Riley Leonard as their starter. Indianapolis still has another matchup with the division-rival Houston Texans, who have won five straight and six of their last seven, including last weekโs victory over the Colts. They also face the Jaguars again after Sundayโs blowout loss, a road trip to meet the 10-3 Seattle Seahawks, and a home game against the 9-4 San Francisco 49ers.
Thereโs a real possibility the Colts could lose out and finish 8-9, a scenario that would guarantee a top-18 selection.
Should Indyโs season continue to unravel, that first-rounder could turn into a second premium swing for the Jets.
