As low as expectations may be for the New York Jets in 2026, they could have a handful of players on the NFL Top 100.

The first has been revealed.

At the ripe age of 37, linebacker Demario Davis has been ranked 95th on the 2026 NFL Top 100, which is voted on by players.

In the NFL’s official reveal video, Saints quarterback Tyler Shough called Davis an “angel”.

“I mean, me as a quarterback, I’m trying to stay cool, calm, and collected. Then Double D starts talking, it’s literally like you’re looking up at angel,” said Shough.

“For me, he’s the smartest player I’ve ever been around. I thought he was The Predator when I first saw him,” continued the second-year quarterback.

“Incredible motor, but if you hear him speak, and you talk to him off the field, he’s one of the best leaders in the game,” said veteran linebacker Eric Kendricks.

Davis’ intensity and leadership continue to be the two most revered aspects of his game. They are the main reasons why the Jets brought him on a two-year, $22 million contract to lead their young locker room in 2026.

But Davis remains a formidable force in his own right. In 2025, he ranked seventh among linebackers with 55 total defensive stops. He also tied for eighth-best at the position with only 8.1 yards per reception allowed in coverage.

On and off the field, Davis figures to be a major difference-maker for a Jets team that badly needs both leadership and production after a season in which they coughed up over 500 points.
