The New York Jets’ Week 2 injury report is in.

New York released their final injury report Friday afternoon. Wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr., safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, defensive end Joseph Ossai, and kick returner/running back Kene Nwagnwu will all miss Sunday’s game.

While Will McDonald is listed as questionable for the game after being limited on Thursday and Friday due to an ankle injury, Aaron Glenn told reporters that he is “expecting” the edge rusher to play.

Second-round rookie cornerback D’Angelo Ponds is also expected to make his NFL debut after missing Week 1 due to a calf injury that he suffered during one of the team’s first training camp practices this summer.

Ossai (foot) and Nwangwu (back) both missed Week 1 due to their respective injuries, while Fitzpatrick and Cooper each left the team’s season opener early. Both Fitzpatrick and Cooper are expected to miss multiple weeks, which puts pressure on several players to step up and fill crucial roles.

Gang Green’s opponent, the Green Bay Packers, could also be without several starters, including starting offensive lineman Zach Bako-Bewele and Aaron Banks, who are both questionable, as well as crucial defensive lineman Lukas Van Ness and Javon Hargrave.

Bako-Bewele, Banks, and Van Ness are each listed as questionable, while Hargrave is doubtful.

On the Jets’ front, it will be interesting to see when Ossai and Nwangwu begin practicing again. Ossai is expected to be one of the Jets’ starting edge rushers this season, but the good news is that in Week 1, you would have never guessed he was out.

Several players stepped up in the room to mitigate his loss, including McDonald and Braiden McGregor, who surprisingly flashed.

With Ossai out again on Sunday, the Jets will need more of the same.
