How high can the New York Jets’ offense fly? Well, according to wide receiver Tim Patrick, the sky is the limit.

“We could be the best, honestly. We could be the best. We have so much talent, it’s insane,” he said when speaking to the media on Monday. “I’ve never been around this much talent, so I don’t even know how to answer that question. It’s going to be scary because there are just so many different ways we could win.”

Keep in mind, Patrick was a part of one of the NFL’s most explosive offenses in recent years: the 2024 Detroit Lions, who won 15 games and led the league with 33.2 points per game. He was also a member of the 2025 Jacksonville Jaguars, who finished sixth in points per game (27.7).

Given that, it’s a striking statement from the veteran WR. Of course, the odds of New York being the NFL’s top offense this year are very low. Still, though, there is much more reason for encouragement than in years past.

Quarterback Geno Smith ranks third among starters in completion percentage (69.4%). The Jets haven’t seen that level of accuracy in quite some time. Garrett Wilson continues to flash his tantalizing ceiling when paired with a competent quarterback.

Gang Green is also still missing some key contributors, including starting guard Dylan Parham, star running back Breece Hall, WR2 Adonai Mitchell, and first-round rookie WR Omar Cooper Jr. Before going down, Parham had looked like the Jets’ top offensive lineman. Hall, of course, is a crucial piece of New York’s offense, and Mitchell is becoming a top target for Smith.

Getting those guys back in action will be important for a group that has struggled over the past two weeks, scoring 12 and 17 points in Weeks 4 and 5. While they got the job done in Week 5 and pulled away with a win, several things still need to be cleaned up.

Nevertheless, the Jets’ offense has talent. But Patrick’s statement is quite bold, especially right now.
