The New York Jets have been significantly banged up on offense throughout the past few weeks.
With Breece Hall, Adonai Mitchell, and Dylan Parham each out for at least the last three games, the unit has been left with significant voids.
However, all three players appear to be trending in the right direction. Speaking to reporters on Wednesday, Jets head coach Aaron Glenn shared that Mitchell and Parham returned to practice, albeit on a limited basis.
Hall didn’t practice on Wednesday, but he’ll be evaluated as the week goes on.
Mitchell, who has dealt with a finger injury, last appeared in Week 2. The injury, which he sustained outside of a game, has forced him to miss the past four weeks, although the team never placed him on injured reserve.
Meanwhile, Parham and Hall both went down in the Jets’ Week 3 loss to the Detroit Lions. Parham suffered a knee injury, while Hall is dealing with a groin issue.
While Braelon Allen has done an excellent job stepping up in Hall’s place and certainly deserves an expanded role in the offense, the Jets need all the weapons they can get, and the former second-round pick is still a premium piece.
Mitchell seemed to have built a strong rapport with Geno Smith before going down, so adding him back in the passing attack will also be important. Smith’s deep ball has really stood out this season, and Mitchell’s profile makes him the ideal fit as Smith’s go-to field-flipping WR.
Before Parham went down, he was playing like the Jets’ best offensive lineman. Since his exit, the group has struggled, especially in high-leverage situations. Getting him back will be crucial to the Jets’ overall offense.
Sure, they’re playing the winless Miami Dolphins, but the Jets are in a must-win situation on Sunday to avoid a 2-5 start, and getting some of their top offensive players back would be huge.
