Deebo Samuel’s brother adds fuel to trade rumors
After weeks of speculation, it is beginning to appear increasingly likely that San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel might be looking to move on.
Firstly, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Tuesday that contract negotiations between San Francisco and Samuel had reached a “halt” mainly due to Samuel.
“San Francisco would pay Deebo Samuel today,” Schefter said. “This I think right now is Deebo Samuel not wanting to get a deal done. It’s not San Francisco not willing to do the deal. The 49ers are ready. Deebo Samuel is the one that has put a halt to everything right now.”

Later in the day, Deebo Samuel’s brother commented on a Facebook post saying that Deebo would request a trade.

“[D]on’t worry we asking for a trade” is the first comment that Samuel’s brother, Tyquan, left in response to a fan that implored San Francisco to trade the star wide receiver. Tyquan then added another comment, stating, “he won’t be a 49er that’s all that matters”.
While nothing is official yet, the reasons to believe Samuel may want out are beginning to stack up.
On April 7, Deebo removed all images and mentions of the 49ers from his Instagram page.

Just over a week later, Deebo posted a video saying that he has received death threats and racist remarks from fans over his contract negotiations.

It’s already known the New York Jets are willing to pay the necessary price to add a star wide receiver. They had an offer in place to trade two second-round picks for Tyreek Hill and were prepared to give him a record-setting contract. Since the Jets lost Hill to Miami, it has been reported that they are “keeping an eye on” the fourth-year wide receivers who may hit the trade block.
Now, one may finally be available.
