The final injury updates are in ahead of the New York Jets’ Week 6 matchup against the New England Patriots.

According to head coach Aaron Glenn, running back Breece Hall, wide receiver Adonai Mitchell, guard Dylan Parham, and edge rusher Joseph Ossai will all be out on Sunday.

Meanwhile, rookie wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. is slated to return (despite a questionable designation on the injury report), while linebacker Kiko Mauigoa, tight end Kenyon Sadiq, and safety Dane Belton will all suit up despite being limited throughout the week.

Sunday will mark the Jets’ third consecutive game without Hall and Parham, and the fourth since Mitchell has been sidelined. Braelon Allen has done an excellent job filling in for Hall’s workload, most notably flashing elusiveness that has been among the best in the league over the past two weeks.

Since signing with the Jets in March, Ossai has been riddled with injuries. He missed most of the summer with a foot injury and aggravated it again before the season started, forcing him to miss the Jets’ first two games. Then, on Sunday, he left New York’s Week 5 win early due to an ankle injury.

Even when Ossai has been out on the field, though, he has struggled. The edge rusher currently owns a 49.6 overall grade at Pro Football Focus, which ranks 99th among 106 qualifiers at his position. Ossai also hasn’t generated pressure on 49 pass-rushing snaps. Due to his absence, preseason standout Nate Lynn is expected to make his NFL debut.

On the other hand, Cooper’s return should immensely help the Jets’ passing attack. He was the Jets’ starting slot receiver in Week 1, and with Mitchell still absent, he could take on a sizeable role on Sunday. The first-round rookie suffered a high-ankle sprain in the opener, forcing him onto injured reserve.

Before his injury in the Jets’ season opener, Cooper caught his only target for a 30-yard catch-and-run.

The Jets remain banged up, and it will be tough to navigate an uphill battle against New England without three key cogs on offense: Hall, Mitchell, and Parham. At the very least, though, Cooper’s return will boost the passing game.
