The mobile app login syncs with the website login, and vice versa. If, for any reason, you notice that the syncing is broken, check out our Troubleshooting section further down on this page.

The above screenshots feature the Jet X Mobile App on iOS devices (Apple App Store), but an identical pattern can be followed when using Jet X Mobile on Android devices (Google Play).

Notifications

You can get real-time notifications by interacting with the green alarm bell button in the bottom left corner of your screen (on select devices/browsers).

If the button does not appear, you’re viewing from a device-browser combination that requires extra steps. Those who can download Jet X Mobile (Native App) from the iOS Apple App Store or Android Google Play won’t have to worry about enabling notifications here since the app provides them on its own.

Only Android (using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox) can offer notifications on mobile devices, whereas notifications are available on all desktop devices.

Device-Browser Scenarios

❗️Notifications are available in the following scenarios without needing to download the Jet X Mobile App (native app from iOS Apple App Store or Android Google Play):

  • 💻 Desktop (non-mobile) devices with all web browsers
  • 📱 Android mobile devices with Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox

❗️Notifications are available in the following scenarios after downloading the Jet X Mobile App (native app from iOS Apple App Store or Android Google Play):

  • 📱 iOS/Apple mobile devices with access to the App Store
  • 📱 Android mobile devices with access to Google Play

Note: An identical process is also available on the mobile version of Google Chrome (and similar with Mozilla Firefox) when using Android devices.

Troubleshooting

Usually, when an internet user signs into a website (whether it’s Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc.), there’s a maximum period of time the user can remain logged in, oftentimes determined by cookies/cache. The same can be said for the Jet X Mobile app, as when a premium article is being viewed, you, as the user, will have to be logged in as a Jet X Member to view the articles and do so in an ad-free environment.

To view your current logged-in/logged-out status on the app or the website, simply click the menu in the upper-left-hand corner of the article page.

However, the website (webview) version needs to communicate with the actual Jet X Mobile app, which operates within the structure of iOS and Android. Therefore, the Jet X Mobile App has a profile system that syncs with the website/webview part of the process.

Communication between the two logins can sometimes fumble up, so use the troubleshooting guide below to help solve issues.

Mobile App Troubleshooting Video Guide

Signs Something is Wrong

—If you notice that the website/webview (reading an article through the mobile app) is asking you to sign in every time you read an article.

—If you remain logged in on the mobile app side of things despite NOT being logged in on the website/webview (actual website when reading an article).

You need to LOG OUT of your profile on the MOBILE APP to fix the sync issue.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Locate the login/logout part of the app (not the website/webview that’s viewed through the app).

APP LOGIN/LOGOUT (top left of mobile app menu):

Jet X Mobile App
Jet X Mobile App

2. Sign out, close the app, open the app, and log back in. (You can even log back in from the website/webview part, instead of the mobile app, and all will be well.) You should be fine from there on out.

Remember, if the synching seems broken, you need to directly SIGN OUT from the MOBILE APP login (before closing the app), NOT the WEBSITE LOGIN that is viewed through the app (webview).

Better yet, try to log out of BOTH sections, the MOBILE APP login and the WEBSITE LOGIN, which looks like this:

WEBSITE/WEBVIEW LOGIN/LOGOUT (top-right area of the website/webview screen):

Jet X Mobile App

The first image above shows an instance where the user is correctly logged into the website (webview), whereas the second image shows the user is not logged in.

Commenting/Refresh Glitch

Sometimes, particularly on iOS, the commenting system will say the system is “closed” when that is not the case. If that happens, follow the same troubleshooting steps above:

  1. Log out of any (both) parts of the app (the app login and the webview/website login).
  2. Close the app.
  3. Open the app.
  4. Make sure to log in from the webview/website part; this way, it syncs with the app.
  5. As long as the user logs in from the website account (as opposed to the app), it’s failproof when attempting to overcome communication glitches, such as not allowing a comment to post.

When voting, commenting, or taking any on-page action, just refresh the page—if the page is currently showing ads when it shouldn’t (if you’re a logged-in Jet X Member). The refresh will reload the page to ensure it reflects your membership status.
