New York Jets tackle George Fant left Seattle to play left tackle. The only problem is Mekhi Becton is also slated for the left side.

Chris Berman had a certain way on ESPN’s NFL Primetime back in the day. From nicknames such as Andre “Bad Moon” Rison to upsets, the man they called Boomer would always remind us of one important thing…

“That’s why they play the game.”

And that’s why the New York Jets will allow their offensive linemen to go at it this coming July. At least that’s what George Fant is hoping.

On a Thursday conference call, one of the Jets’ newest free-agent signings fully admitted he left Seattle to play left tackle.

โ€œThat was my thing leaving Seattle,” Fant admitted. “I wanted to play left tackle. Iโ€™m really comfortable with the position. I think thatโ€™s where I offer the best abilities and will be able to help the team the most.โ€

There’s just one little problem. Well, it’s not a little problem at all.
