New York Jets tackle George Fant left Seattle to play left tackle. The only problem is Mekhi Becton is also slated for the left side.
Chris Berman had a certain way on ESPN’s NFL Primetime back in the day. From nicknames such as Andre “Bad Moon” Rison to upsets, the man they called Boomer would always remind us of one important thing…
“That’s why they play the game.”
And that’s why the New York Jets will allow their offensive linemen to go at it this coming July. At least that’s what George Fant is hoping.
On a Thursday conference call, one of the Jets’ newest free-agent signings fully admitted he left Seattle to play left tackle.
“That was my thing leaving Seattle,” Fant admitted. “I wanted to play left tackle. I’m really comfortable with the position. I think that’s where I offer the best abilities and will be able to help the team the most.”
George Fant on the LT vs. RT:
“That was my thing leaving Seattle. I wanted to play left tackle. I think that’s where I help the team the most."
But he also cites versatility and believes he can absolutely get it done at right tackle as well. #Jets

There’s just one little problem. Well, it’s not a little problem at all.
Jets are pretty thin at Tackle, plenty of opportunity..George gets to become a full time starter at RT, reminding him of the money Conklin just pulled down.
