The New York Jets 2020 preseason schedule is officially set. The New York Giants will kick it off and the Philadelphia Eagles wrap it up.

While the 2020 NFL schedule was already released (nationally televised in grand fashion), several games were still tagged with the dreaded TBD (to be determined).

On Friday, part of that mystery has been answered. The New York Jets‘ preseason slate is officially set, as presented by Randy Lange of the Jets official website.

Previously, only the Week 2 road date with the Detroit Lions was already set in stone.

Week 1 against the New York Giants, otherwise lovingly known as the Snoopy Bowl, is now set for Aug. 13 at 7:30 p.m. ET, Week 3 against the Pittsburgh Steelers (the dress rehearsal) will play out on Aug. 28 at 7:30 p.m. ET at MetLife Stadium, and the final preseason date against a familiar Week 4 opponent, the Philadelphia Eagles, puts an end to the four-game slate in Philadelphia, Sept. 3 at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Obviously, with the current world in lockdown on none of the four major professional sports currently in progress, to speak certainty on the schedule is a tough move—no less the preseason schedule in August. At the very least, the first four games of the 2020 season now come with concrete days and times.

Sam Darnold and the New York Jets travel to Orchard Park, NY to take on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills for Week 1 action when the games count for real. Week 2 will feature the home-opener when the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers fly east.

What looks like a tough schedule (the second-toughest based on last year’s winning percentage) can be fought a little with a great preseason showing from the depth chart this August. At least that’s what Joe Douglas and Adam Gase are currently hoping for at the moment.
