These are the words of the average Jets fan at the moment. The overall sentiment of the Jets fanbase is crystal clear: They want a Jamal Adams extension and they want it now. But as the Rolling Stones have reminded us time and again, you can’t always get what you want.
As clear as most of the fanbase believes an extension should happen, what if it never materializes prior to the 2020 season? What then?
Adams ranked 27th in salary at his position a year ago, meaning his salary isn’t commensurate with his production. Since the offseason ended, Adams has been quite clear about his desire to extend as soon as possible, even publicly announcing he wants to be a Jet for life.
