Le'Veon Bell, Madden
EA Sports

Several New York Jets—Le’Veon Bell, Sam Darnold and more—appear in EA Sports’ new “Madden NFL 21” trailer Tuesday morning.

Like clockwork, EA Sports ensures it hits the regularly-scheduled marks during the calendar year, and on Tuesday, the company released the first Madden NFL 21 trailer and several New York Jets made an appearance.

Le’Veon Bell is the first Jet to appear under the new all-out control feature for the ball-carrier skill stick. He jukes a Buffalo Bills defender in what looks to be Orchard Park.

Next, C.J. Mosley and Bless Austin are pictured in Los Angeles against the Chargers. Austin Ekeler found a way to sneak through the defense for a touchdown.

Perhaps no Jet gets as much time as center Connor McGovern, whose face is never shown but right hand and snap form are prominently featured.

Unfortunately, Sam Darnold’s time comes at the hands of a Von Miller sack. No. 14 was sacked far too many times in 2019 and Madden decided to pour one more on before 2020 commences.

Baltimore Ravens quarterback and reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson is the cover athlete for the game and isn’t concerned with the so-called “Madden curse” that’s taken out player after player through the years. He believes the curse may be over, and when looking at Patrick Mahomes‘s 2019 season (despite the injury), he might be correct.

I’m not sure Antonio Brown should be used, or even Tom Brady, whose Super Bowl loss isn’t a successful season by his measure. Either way, Jackson is the cover man and is featured big-time in the full trailer.

The game’s initial release date is scheduled for Aug. 25, 2020.
