Sam Darnold throws a tremendous ball to Denzel Mims on the 9-route, Jamal Adams meets with the Seattle Seahawks media Nick Mangold buries Prez, Bradley McDougald meets with the New York Jets media, and we analyze where the new safety fits into Gregg Williams’ defense on Sabo Radio 55.

No, you did not just watch a virtual New York Jets practice. That Sam Darnold tremendous ball to Denzel Mims on the go-route at Florham Park was very real.

Despite the Jets’ official Twitter account hyping the world up for 13 seconds, it’s still hard to believe based on our current world over the last several months. And the best part? There’s much more to come… hopefully.

Jamal Adams finally meets with the Seattle Seahawks media for the first time, and among his thoughts is the idea that he plans to retire in Seattle. It’s a line that not only had Jets fans smirking, but it also had Jets’ legend Nick Mangold quote-tweeting GIFs of Kevin Malone from The Office.

Lastly, Bradley McDougald also met with his new media, the New York Jets beat on Friday. Among the highlights was his whereabouts when Seahawks general manager John Schneider notified him about the trade, his initial thoughts, and how he plans on replacing Adams.

McDougald prides himself as a versatile strong safety. He also prides himself as a tackler and a man-cover defensive back. But make no mistake about it: he’s not Jamal Adams.

Gregg Williams’ 2020 defense will look extremely different with McDougald in and Adams out. The interchangeability between McDougald and Marcus Maye will be something much more present than it was with Adams and Maye. We break down a little bit of film that showcases McDougald’s spotty run-support skills. (He is a solid open-field tackler, but his run support from the strong safety spot is something that needs attention.)

All of that and more on Sabo Radio 55.
