Ben Blessington and Michael Nania talk to BYU recruiting insider Jeff Hansen about Zach Wilson as a person on and off the field.

In eight days’ time, the New York Jets will presumably have their new franchise quarterback. Is that man going to be headband-wearing extraordinaire and Chiptole endorser Zach Wilson?

As of today, most signs have pointed in that direction. Justin Fields should still be considered a remote possibility, but based on everything we’ve heard so far, it would be a mild shock if Wilson were not the pick.

Wilson has all of the talent and physical ability to thrive in the NFL, but who is he off the field? Does the Utah kid and BYU product have the demeanor and leadership ability to command an NFL locker room in the New York City spotlight?

To learn more about Wilson as a person and his readiness for the NFL, Ben Blessington and Michael Nania spoke to Jeff Hansen of Cougar Sports Insider, who has covered Wilson and gotten to speak with him since his high school days in Draper, Utah. Jeff touched on Wilson’s humble mentality, his journey to earning and keeping BYU’s starting quarterback job, his massive effect on the status of BYU’s football program, his family background, his leadership ability, and more.
