Although it looks like the New York Jets are set to draft Zach Wilson in the NFL draft, Justin Fields brings outstanding traits to the table.

Nothing’s left but the tears of joy and horror. The New York Jets are set to make BYU quarterback Zach Wilson the next face of their franchise.

Right? Well, yeah … most likely.

Joe Douglas, a man whose personality and business tactics rarely allow him to showcase transparency, has done everything but explicitly tell the NFL world he’s selecting Wilson in the two-hole of the 2021 NFL draft.

Therefore, why even worry about any of the other possibilities? Well, because this is football, and appropriate thing to do in football is to always value the process, for the process is always more important than the actual results.

Ohio State’s Justin Fields entered the collegiate season as the clear No. 2 quarterback prospect. Much like presumptive No. 1 pick Trevor Lawrence, Fields has been in the spotlight for quite some time.

Then, something strange yet familiar happened: Fields started to drop on draft boards. He even slid past Mac Jones and Trey Lance on some boards.

What’s the deal?

The newest Blewett’s Blitz episode explores why Fields is this year’s pre-draft slide guy. What are some NFL executives fearful of? Why is Wilson considered the lock at No. 2 as opposed to him?

This particular breakdown is nearly two hours (subscription required). Even if you’re a Wilson believer, one thing about Fields is certain: the kid brings serious NFL traits to the table.
