C.J. Mosley shares his message for potential New York Jets free agent additions
In March 2019, free-agent linebacker C.J. Mosley made the decision to leave a perenially successful organization, the Baltimore Ravens, for a struggling organization, the New York Jets.
Mosley is aware of the stigmas that surround the Jets, and he has a message for free agents who might be scared away by those narratives.
Speaking to the media during the week ahead of the Jets’ 2021 season finale against the Bills, Mosley said he would be doing his part to help recruit free agents in the offseason – and he provided quite the sales pitch.
"You should be the reason why they should win. That's why I came to the New York Jets…If you're scared to come here because you think you might lose, then don't come" – CJ Mosley on what he would tell free agents worried about coming to the Jets this offseason pic.twitter.com/r1DA2oHSaO

In response to a question asking what he would tell players who might be worried about going to a losing franchise, Mosley said, “You should be the reason why we should win. That’s why I came to the New York Jets. I wanted to come here and turn a losing organization around … if you’re scared to come here because you think you might lose, then don’t come.”
Mosley continued, “If you want to come here to change the culture, to change the atmosphere, to prove that you can be one of the best players to help this organization, help this team win and get back to a Super Bowl, then by all means necessary bring everybody with you, bring that same mindset.
“That’s all we need, if you come in with negativity and doubt there’s no point in even coming. If you want to be a part of something special, and believe in something special, then the doors are open for you.”
