With this news, Saleh will still not have attended a Combine throughout his two years as the Jets’ head coach, as the 2021 event was canceled due to COVID-19.
Saleh’s absence adds to a growing list of Jets-related names who will not be seen in Indy.
Two possible first-round targets for New York – LSU cornerback Derek Stingley Jr. and Alabama tackle Evan Neal – will not work out at the Combine. Instead, they will be waiting until their respective pro days to showcase themselves for scouts. Alabama’s pro day is scheduled for March 30 and LSU’s pro day is scheduled for April 6.
Nevertheless, there will still be plenty of intriguing storylines for Jets fans to track. All of these players who have been rumored as possible first-round targets for the Jets are expected to work out in Indy:
- Drake London, WR, USC
- Garrett Wilson, WR Ohio St.
- Treylon Burks, WR, Arkansas
- George Karlaftis, EDGE, Purdue
- Jermaine Johnson, EDGE, Florida State
- Kayvon Thibodeaux, EDGE, Oregon
- Aidan Hutchinson, EDGE, Michigan
- David Ojabo, EDGE, Michigan
- Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame
- Ahmad “Sauce” Gardner, CB, Cincinnati

- Trevor Penning, OL, Northern Iowa
- Ikem “Ickey” Ekwonu, OL, NC State
- Tyler Linderbaum, OL, Iowa

It should be a fun week for Jets fans.
